BECOME A MEMBER

The Society holds general meetings, member
gatherings and fundraising events.
The Board of Directors meets monthly.
The Annual General Meeting is held at the
beginning of March, when the Board of
Directors is elected for the coming year.

New members are always welcome.

VOLUNTEER WITH US

The Society is completely operated by volunteers who perform a
variety of tasks:

Act as hosts or guides of the historic house; showing visitors through
the rooms and commenting on the exhibits

Hosting small exhibit tables offsite at various functions around the
community

Serving on the Board of Directors

Organizing and cataloguing information, documents and artifacts

Preparing local history displays in the Sovereign House

Answering phone, mail or email

Transcribing Charles Sovereign's Journals, daily entries and accounts

Newsletter preparation; current events or historic articles

Research and prepare articles for newspapers and other publications

Organizing special events and fundraisers. Plan refreshments

Arrange space rental schedules and clarify information with
prospective renters

Organize Art on the Bluffs, series of local art shows. Hang group shows

Take part in costumed dramatic readings

Day to day maintenance of the Sovereign House

We welcome your participation.
